11/16/11

A month from today we'll begin our journey to Africa. The house has become some what of an after thought over the past few weeks, but the work continues.

The trusses have been delivered and will be going up on either Friday or Monday. You probably guessed this, but those white specks are snowflakes. And yes, I biked there in the snow.
The second floor is finally taking shape. The exterior was framed in today and tomorrow the interior walls should go up and we will be able to get a sense of the girls' rooms.

11/12/11

It's been a while since our last post. The guys lost three days of work this week to the weather. We are also finding it's hard to get to the house on weekdays before it's too dark out. In other news, we received notification of our court date in Ethiopia on Dec. 22. We spent the last few days booking tickets and are excited to mark our calendars with the day we get to meet our little girl!

The garage is up, which totally transforms the look of the front.

The back deck is finally perfect. It took the guys a while to get everything just right.

November is here

Not a whole lot to show since the last post. The guys have been working hard on getting the back deck perfect. The back deck supports the second floor and is over 50 feet long so it is important that it is perfectly level. The trusses have been ordered and are scheduled to be delivered in a week.

The garage floor was poured late last week. The guys threw a tarp up in case it rained while it was still drying.

The basement stairs have been added as well.

Day 59

Almost two months in. The second floor has been started. Before they can really get into the second floor the back deck needs to get up since it helps support the second floor.

The garage floor is all set to be poured. Now we just need the weather to allow that to happen.

Another good week

Another week down. The main level is now framed in. Next week they'll start going up to the second floor. I've also tried adding a couple videos.
