Day #3: Check out the hole!

We have enjoyed making it a routine of going to the land every evening. We love to see all of the progress being made.

Our driveway looks to be nice and packed down so big trucks can hopefully make it up:)
You can see the "hole" where our house will sit. The front of the house will be located closest to Aaron with the walkout basement at the background of the photo.

Another view of the location of our house. Lots of sand. Addy thinks it is quite the playground coming prepared today with her boots on.

A view towards the back end of our land. This will be our view from our deck/porch. There are some nice healthy trees in the background.

The view from top to bottom of our driveway. We are continuing to love this lot more and more with its beauty and serenity. We feel so blessed that we are able to build!

Day #2: Excavation Continues

So, now the stakes have been placed at the perimeter of the house and attached garage. We are beginning to visualize our "new new house" as Addy calls it.

The stake in the foreground marks the front of our house and the house will continue to the left of the stake.

Standing at the east side of the land.

The photo is taken from the future walkout basement looking up towards the future main floor.

Top of hill. Driveway contine to the left just in front of the bulldozer.

The stake in the foreground (right) marks end of the garage.

Excavation Begins

The "driveway" is not as steep as we expected.

The view from the top looking towards the neighbors to the east.

The men at work.

Addy playing in the huge sandbox. She loved it!

Before Construction

The climb to the top.

Still climbing.

View from the top. Lots of fallen trees. Photos taken 8.28.10 (the day before excavation!)
